PostHeaderIcon How do I lose the fat around my belly and love handles?

I want to find out how to lose belly fat, and fat around love handle areas.

I am a 31 year old female, I am 5′2" and weigh 130 lbs.

I EXERCISE 4-5 days per week doing cardio and weight training for 1 hour. I also do tons of crunches. Have been doing this consistently for 3 months. I am more muscular but haven’t lost any weight yet.

I eat a healthy diet, usually around 1200-1500 calories a day depending on my exercise that day. I also consume 100 oz of water per day.

My legs and arms have become very toned from doing this routine, but I can’t seem to lose the extra fat from my stomach and love handle area. I need to lose that last 10 lbs, and I think if I can find a way to eliminate this area then I would hit that goal.

My hubby recommends upping my cardio to 1 hour prior to my weight training, but I’ve heard too much cardio will start burning muscle.

Please don’t respond with a diet pill, I am not interested!

In not possible to spot reduce fat in just one part of your body, like your belly. In order to lose belly fat you will need to lose the fat all over your body.

In short you may need to start:

1) Eating healthier, this means:

Eat smaller meals
Eat more meals a day
Don’t starve yourself
Eat more vegetables and fruit
Drinks more water
Less sugars and empty calories (less soft drinks, cakes, cookies)
Switch to whole wheat versions of your bread and pasta, brown rice instead of white rice

2) Exercising:

Forget crunches, crunches work your ab muscles but they dont burn enough calories to lose belly fat, if you do hundreds of crunches daily you will have great abs but you wont see them under your belly fat.
Prefer full body exercises they burn the most calories and increase you metabolism for a few hours after your workout.
Get a training partner or a fitness trainer, a very worthwhile investment – of the money you save on junk food for example =)

Try also to reduce stress and get enough sleep. Both of these are related to weight gain and emotional eating.

I’m 18 years old and was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to reduce my body fat percentage

you want to follow a low calorie low GI diet. consume small meals/snacks every couple of hours. this allows the body to better utilize calories and nutrients and keep insulin levels low. controlling insulin through the diet is the key to reducing body fat. when you exercise you want to exercise at high levels of intensity, basically you want to exercise like a competitive athlete. train with a purpose not just to burn calories

I run 1.5 kms three days a week, do 30 crunches for 3 days a week and do some push ups as well for the last one month. But nothing is working…..PLEASE HELP!!!!

How hard you’re training means nothing if you get back home and eat 100 krispy kreme doughnuts. Make sure your diet is up to scratch, check out bodybuilding.com for some effective diet plans.

Look for a high protein low carb diet, this will burn the most body fat and allow you to maintain muscles you get working out/

PostHeaderIcon can weight lifting remove or reduce body fat?

I’m not over weight, but i have an annoying layer of fat covering my abs. I have 7 lb dumbbell weights, and i need to know if it can remove the layer when i lift. If not, then how often should i run on my treadmill to lose it?

weight lifting is not enough…you have to combine it with running and a diet (not a diet like those for loosing weight..i mean you don`t have to give up eating stuff you like..you just have to calculate the calories and be sure you burn more when you run)..as for running…if you want results you will have to run 3-4 times a week for AT LEAST half an hour..but it is recomended to run daily..that way you will reduce body fat and by weight lifting your muscles will become more visible from under the fat
